UK to celebrate freelancing on Nov 21
A UK–wide event to celebrate the work its 1.75million freelancers do; the risks they take and the contributions they make has been given the go-ahead for November 21st.
The keynote speaker for the evening session of the event, National Freelancers Day 2013, will be Karren Brady, the entrepreneur and co-star of BBC1’s The Apprentice.
Brady, currently the vice-chair of West Ham United, will be joined by a panel of experts for a ‘Question Time’-style debate, to focus on the impact of flexible working on the economy.
Members of the panel include the political editor of the Sunday Times, Isabel Oakeshott, the journalist and broadcaster Nick Ferrari and John Glen, Conservative MP for Salisbury.
The
BBC’s small business expert, Liz Barclay, will also feature at the event in
London, which will be hosted by broadcaster Sue Lawley, one of the UK’s highest-profile
freelancers.
