Osborne to unveil Autumn Statement 2012 on Dec 5

George Osborne will deliver his second Autumn Statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday December 5th.

According to the Treasury, the Chancellor of the Exchequer will use the day to provide an update on the state of the economy – and the coalition’s plans for it – at 12.30pm.

Hailed in 2011 as a ‘mini-Budget’, as it contained a raft of measures to boost enterprise, the statement will be closely watched for being the second most significant economic event in the parliamentary calendar.

It could also address the role that the smallest, one-person businesses are expected to play in the UK’s recovery from recession, although last year the chancellor was accused of an “omission” for leaving them out.
