Blacklisting in the Construction Industry
This is a 7,000 word investigative feature that aimed to tell the full story of a 10-year blacklisting scandal. It was the result of about a month of research and interviews with many of the people at the heart of the story.
Collaboration report
I was commissioned to edit the text for a booklet on industrial collaboration. After reviewing the copy supplied and chatting to the client, I ended up researching, writing, illustating and designing the booklet. I have now been asked to do another.
Hitachi technology blogs
The client wanted a series of blogs to personalise its "social innovation" products. These covered a wide range of areas, including smart electricity grids, biometric scanners, train locomotives and healthcare IT systems. The following are some of the 1,000 word essays I wrote to make these products more approachable for a general audience. The trick here was to find a style that could turn fairly technical information into a good read. Here are three of seven blogs I've written so far. I have now been commissioned to write one a month.
