Photographers are logging on to a new directory service that lists all the freelance-friendly agencies, in the UK and overseas, while serving up the latest press openings.
Run by United National Photographers, a freelance photography agency, the Press Photo Agency portal is free to both staff and freelancers who want to be listed.
Alongside the directory, and as well as advertising the latest press assignments, the site says it will explore the role of photo agencies in "today's difficult market."
Cue Michael Smith, a world cinema research student at Leeds University, who will pen leader-style pieces, one of which argues "no symptoms of a dying industry" exist.
A round-up of grants, awards with cash prizes, and training courses specialising in photojournalism and photography is also on-site, next to links to industry groups.
