Gag on plugging angers Branson

Business-savvy entrepreneurs always jump at the chance to plug their latest products or services.

Little wonder then that Sir Richard Branson was this week left hopping mad after he was unable to promote his new Virgin America airline on US TV.

He was so enraged at losing the opportunity to sell his brainchild to a live audience in New York that he threw a glass of water over the show’s host Stephen Colbert.

Colbert though wasn’t having any of it: he asked on-show aides to fetch him a bottle of water, which he promptly tossed over the British entrepreneur.

According to The Sun, Sir Richard was livid because he thought he was invited onto The Colbert Report to chat about his new air service between New York and Los Angeles.

A Virgin spokesman told the paper: “ Richard did throw his water over Stephen. As most people know, Richard can be unpredictable.”
