Gay rights in Singapore are on the wane after an exhibition of photographs depicting same sex couples kissing was banned by censors.
Organisers of the exhibition, entitled Kissing, were refused a licence by city authorities on the grounds that the pictures “promote a homosexual lifestyle.”
Alex Au, who took the photographs, reportedly said: “It’s absurd to think that gay people do not also kiss, and that representation of such a reality would be subversive.”
