Wanted: your photos of plastic bags

Plastic bags have already made an appearance at the Photographers’ Gallery: the freelance artists Marysa Dowling has an exhibition there charting the journey of a single carrier.

Now the gallery wants you to get involved. Anyone with a camera is invited to submit photos of unloved plastic bags floating around London and elsewhere.

The photos will be showcased in a Plastic Bag Gallery from now until September, with the aim of reminding Londoners of their insatiable appetite to consume and dispose.

The project is also part of the gallery’s remit of encouraging a wider pool of people to participate in photography, with the aim of highlighting its influence in everyday life.
