Olympic chiefs call in consultants

A freelance consultancy firm was used every week by the Olympic Delivery Authority, in their remit to build the land and buildings needed for London 2012.

Fifty-three external companies were hired during the public company’s first year in existence, according to Tessa Jowell, the minister for the UK Olympics.

Hugh Robertson, Tory spokesman for the Olympics, told The Independent: “Fifty-three is an awful lot. The next thing to do is find out how much they were paid.”
