Blogger makes Emap pay

A marketing blogger last night declared victory after a publishing house apologised for using his image without consent and agreed to pay his invoice in full.

Tim Ireland, of well-respected site Bloggerheads, has posted that Emap, which publishes men’s magazine Zoo, will from now on “only include material where they have consent in advance.”

Earlier, Ireland had posted that it “will blow up in Emap’s faces” if they continue to publish viral images in their weekly title, without paying or asking the individuals who own and created them.

Leading graphics artist Beau Bo D’Or has blogged about the ‘long history’ of Emap not honouring the rights of copyright holders. He has now blocked the publishing house from viewing his images.
