Anyone who is passionate about taking photographs can now submit their favourite snaps to potentially feature in a worldwide showcase of contemporary photography.
By submitting photographs to the global competition run by the Association of Photographers, amateurs, emerging photographers and professionals can also win an array of prizes.
Cameras with a value of up to £2,000 are on offer to individuals who submits their compelling images of any subject or any theme, the AOP said this week.
A panel of Judges, selected for their passion for visual imagery, will be drawn from all corners of the world’s creative industry to decide the most striking images.
Awards will then be presented for the ‘Best in Show’ choices and the ‘Public
Choice’ winner will also feature at the AOP Gallery in London from August 23, 2007.
The global event is hailed as one of the only major photographic competitions accessible to everyone, regardless of their talent or location in the world.
Priding itself on being a search for outstanding images rather than a celebration of just the few, the competition wants to hear from” anyone with a love of photography who has taken a great picture they want to share.”
The deadline for entries is July 5 2007, and the exhibition showing the best images runs from August 22 to 28 September 2007.
An online exhibition of images and the public choice vote are launched on August 1 from www.aop-open.com. There is no limit to the number of images that can be submitted, though each will attract an entry fee of £12.00.
