Have you snapped climate change?

Six state-of-the-art cameras are up for grabs for photographers who’ve captured climate change in action.

A UK-wide competition is calling anyone aged 18 or over to submit their best shot of environmental change to stand a chance of winning an Olympus E-400 Digital SLR.

Launched yesterday by The Daily Telegraph, the competition will run over six months, but the first entries must be submitted by May 31 2007.

Each month, one camera will be given to the photographer who wows the newspaper with their image of how the environment is changing.

To inspire entrants, competition organisers asked: “Is your local town subject to flooding? Did your garden bloom early this year?

“Perhaps you’ve visited the site of a retreated glacier or photographed animals hundreds of miles off their migratory routes.

“Whatever it is, send your photograph, with a short explanation of why it’s illustrative of climate change to earth.competitions@telegraph.co.uk

Runners up will see shortlisted entries posted on a micro-site dedicated to the competition.
