A Bollywood star has reportedly apologised to the Indian press after several photographers were beaten by armed guards for taking his family’s picture.
Amitabh Bachan explained the guards belonged to a politician invited to the wedding of his son and his new wife, and were not part of his own security team.
The Guardian reported that the guards kicked and punched photographers to clear the way for a car that was carrying Abhishek Bachan and Aishwarya Rai, a former Miss World.
The pair were said to be trying to make their way to a post-wedding ritual on Saturday, when the attacks took place, resulting in one journalist needing treatment in hospital.
