Kodak has unveiled a single-use camera that it claims provides unbeatable clarity for any 800-speed model.
The new HQ camera, which is 20% smaller than its replacement, is expected to be a hit among consumers who don’t want to risk using their regular cameras.
Its market has already been proven, Kodak hinted, because the majority of adults who already have a main camera use a replacement when conditions look uncertain.
A survey by the company found single-use models are often relied upon when elements such as snow, sand or “sticky little fingers” are present.
Having a disposable is also the perfect back up for when a consumer’s regular model has low battery or contains a nearly full memory card.
Laurent Dartoux, a general manager at Kodak, said: “With its new sleek, smaller design, which is 20 percent smaller than the camera it replaces, it provides an alternative that's as attractive as it is functional.
“Easy-to-use, stylish and reliable, consumers can pull it out on the slopes, at a formal gathering or at a children's birthday party and capture great pictures.”
The company’s single-use range also includes a Sport camera, which allows users to take vibrant shots 50 feet underwater.
Unlike the new model this is available now, with HQ expected to debut on the shelves by the end of next month.
