A Swedish news bulletin has had critics suggest its name should change from Rapport to ‘Rapporn’ after it wrongly showed clips from a hardcore sex movie during a five-minute update.

The country’s public broadcaster SVT made the monumental error after staff failed to switch off a sports channel on the overhead monitor that shows adult movies past midnight.

As a result, newsreader Peter Dahlgren obliviously delivered the nighttime stories while viewers watched an excerpt from Czech porn movie Sex Tails.

One vigilante news producer reportedly saved the channel from further embarrassment when he spotted the steamy scenes and rushed to the monitor and switched it off.

The broadcaster has told news agencies that surprisingly, not one viewer phoned in to complain, despite huge subsequent interest from media outlets worldwide.

“This is highly embarrassing and unfortunate,” a spokesman told AP.

“It must not happen again. This is unbelievable. If you decide to watch news, you shouldn't have to watch some stupid hardcore porn film. This will never happen again.”
