Entrepreneurs thinking about entering the 2006 National Business Awards have just a couple of weeks to make their submissions to what Gordon Brown has dubbed the ‘Business Oscars.’
Although normally reserved for larger corporations, entrants for 2006 can choose from 15 different categories including best business innovator and outstanding business woman.
Also for the smaller ventures, an award is up for grabs for the company that has succesfully expanded through a growth strategy that bypassed a merger or acquisition.
One of the sponsors, Axa Insurance, will attend the final awards ceremony to award a one entrepreneur with its ‘Small to medium-sized business of the year award.’
Mobile phone firm Orange is inviting submissions for another NBA title, namely – The Best use of technology in business.’
All of the winners will be congratulated in November by the Countess of Wessex at London’s Grosvenor House in Park Lane, where the awards dinner will take place.
Adrian Tripp, chief executive of the NBA, said:” "With over 25 per cent of GDP represented in the National Business Awards 2005, it is clear that the majority of the British business community keenly welcome this opportunity to celebrate their success and innovation.”
The spotlighted winners typically become “exceptional role models” across the UK and beyond, he said.
Two-time winner Experian, the credit expert, said an enhanced reputation with suppliers, local businesses and clients was the direct result of success at the NBA.
“We have had copies made of the trophies to put in our reception areas around the country and these are a daily reminder to our people of their achievement, as well as to the many visitors to our offices,” said Peter Brooker, public affairs director.
“I’d assure any organisation considering entering the National Business Awards that, if you win – even if you are only shortlisted – it’s well worth the effort for the positive effect on staff morale, raised media profile – especially in your local and trade environments – and increased respect and credibility among your customers.”
A registration form can be downloaded at www.nationalbusinessawards.com or obtained by post by calling the entries team on 020 7378 1188.
