Every business conversation you have is a form of networking; it is all about building your relationship with current contacts and expanding your base of contacts. There are several places that offer regular networking meetings, quite often your bank (if you are a business customer) may hold regular networking meetings for its customers and another good source is the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC).
As well as the above institutions you need to take every conversation with anybody as a potential networking contact! You never know when you will pick up a good lead that can lead to business, chatting to a stranger at a restaurant or pub, when speaking to friends and relations about your business, etc. Always sing the praises of your work and enthuse about projects you have recently completed - your confidence will inspire confidence in your potential new clients.
