As a RIBA Chartered Architect, Jonathan offers comprehensive Architect services: from conceptual design through to completion on site, and beyond. Based in Devon, Jonathan practices throughout the South West and South East of England.
Jonathan provides full Architect services across all project sectors and types, but his particular passion is for bespoke, ecologically sustainable, residential developments including: housing developments, individual house builds, conversions and high-end extensions for both developer and private clients.
Jonathan provides a high level of legislative and technical knowledge as well as specialist expertise in construction procurement and on site contract administration. Jonathan ensures that his designs respond to all relevant planning legislation, will comply with the building regulations, are constructionally cost effective and buildable on site.
As well as being a RIBA Chartered Architect, Jonathan is also a NHER licensed 'On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor' (OCDEA), providing in house sustainability/energy efficient design as a matter of course. Jonathan is able to provide this service in-house without the added delay, complication and expense of having to outsource and coordinate with another consultant. Pre-application and full Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments and advice can be provided and Jonathan is also a licensed SAP and 'On Construction EPC Assessor'.

New Build Eco Apartments
Jonathan was appointed by a developer client to provide a Full Architects Service, to produce a block of 10 luxury apartments. The apartments were designed to meet the 'Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5 (CSH Level 6 being the highest attainable).

Alteration Extension and Refurbishment
A new kitchen extension and complete refurbishment has totally transformed this 1960's detached house. A new focal point has been provided in the form of a large open-plan kitchen/dining room opening onto the garden. Jonathan provided a full Architect's service including obtaining Planning Approval, Full Plans Building Regulation Approval, Production of Tender/Construction Drawings, production of a written Specification, Tender Action and on site Contract Administration.

Seaside House, Seaside Chic Meets Country Living
The brief was to dramatically remodel and extend a 1970s beach front house located in a conservation area into a sustainable a New England meets Georgian style period property.
onathan's appointment included design, preparation and submission of a detailed Planning Application, the preparation and submission of a Full Plans Building Regulation Application, the preparation of detailed Tender/Construction information including detailed construction drawings, finishes schedules and a full written Specification and Contract Preliminaries for use under a JCT MW Contract.

New Build Apartments
Jonathan was appointed by a developer client to produce a detailed design for this development of 11 luxury apartments. Jonathan's role involved the creation of detailed Construction drawings, finishes schedules, a detailed written NBS specification and preparation of 'Employer's Requirements' documentation for adoption by the Contractor under a bespoke Design and Build Contract.
The client retained Jonathan's services throughout the project to act as employer's agent, helping to ensure that the project progressed in accordance with the adopted 'Employer's Requirements' documentation.

A Riverside House
Currently on site, located in a highly desirable area of Berkshire and located on the banks of the River Thames, this bespoke, highly sustainable/eco project is for the extension and alteration to an existing three bedroom arts and crafts house.
The appointment was to carry out a full Architects Service with a view to having the project constructed under a traditional procurement route.
